A creative outlet

I got a few Christmassy mini cross stitch kits as pressies this year and couldn’t resist stitching this little fella while I was sat in front of the TV. The pattern in the kit wasn’t great, they’d drawn the outlines of different colour blocks without much regard for the grid layout, so there were lots of awkward 1/3 square shapes that would have been tricky to do (it wasn’t up to the high standard that I’m used to from the rather wonderful Penelope Teapot kits). Rather than trying to do the fiddly little stitches I modified the pattern slightly and am quite pleased with the result. Will have to think of a way of incorporating this and the other designs into decorations for next Christmas.
